TAC ASSOCIATES are the successors of Tanzania Audit Corporation (TAC) which was established under the Tanzania Audit Corporation Act (No.1) of 1968 on 1st February, 1968 following the Arusha Declaration, to audit in particular, the nationalized concerns in place of the private audit firms that existed at that time.

Following amendments to the Public Corporations Act in 1993, Tanzania Audit Corporation undertook audit and ancillary services on a competitive basis with other professional firms in similar business, except where the law establishing a respective public corporation provided to the contrary.

In 2002 Tanzania Audit Corporation was privatized though a Management Employee Buy-Out (MEBO) to some of its senior professionals, and culminated in the establishment of a private firm, TAC Associates (Certified Public Accountants) which began its operations formally on 1st January, 2003.

The firm has thus gathered extensive experience in provision of professional services to multi-disciplinary business enterprise and the public sector.
